Area 31’s panoramic vistas provide the wow factor, but Chef Birk’s elegant yet approchable cuisine draws full attention to the plate, as avid diners anticipate what his worldly influences and fresh inspiration will cook up next. Keeping it fresh is a big part of Area 31, and that includes sourcing ingredients from our favorite local vendors.
While it’s preferable to come here hungry, we’re always happy to share the view with you over cocktails and people-watching from our spectacular outdoor Terrace Lounge.

As you can see, we’re very close to the ocean and the good things that come from it. While the menu can take you anywhere on Earth, we take a little extra pride in our seafood.
Our name is drawn from Fishing Area 31, the international fishing area designated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, encompassing the marine waters of the Southeast Atlantic Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and South America’s northeast coast. The UN is dedicated to keeping this specific area a place of sustainable development, a vision that Area 31 embraces and advances.
If the name Area 31 also suggests an air of mystery to you, we won’t discourage it.
Area 31 is also proud to be certified by the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch, dedicated to promoting sustainable seafood practices that help support wild, diverse and healthy ocean ecosystems.

Monday - Thursday, Happy Hour is from 5pm - 8pm.
Specialty Drinks and Bar Bites are $7.
Fridays feature "Chase The Clock" from 5pm - close.
