BDK Restaurant & Bar is inspired by the warmth and friendliness of Bill Kimpton himself. The late founder of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, Bill had a winning approach to hospitality that we try to replicate here, by creating a timeless neighborhood tavern that feels like it’s been part of the local fabric for years. Sunlight streams in through arched windows, while the space, designed by San Francisco firm Ken Fulk Inc., highlights handsome materials such as raw steel, leather, warm wool plaids, darkened bronze and oak. We like to think Bill would’ve felt right at home bellying up to the bar and ordering a Chianti from the wine list, or one of Kevin Diedrich’s cocktails, with a bite from Chef Heather Terhune’s menu of enhanced American comfort classics.
