Historically known as one of the most romantic spots in Austin, The Driskill Grill has been an Austin institution since 1929. Formerly The Driskill Dining Parlor, President Lyndon B. Johnson took future First Lady Claudia (Lady Bird) Taylor on their first date at the Parlor in 1934. Countless dates, social affairs and proposals have occurred in the Grill – home to one of the most romantic tables in Austin.
Known for a convivial monthly learning event, The Driskill Grill is home to the "Driskill Academy" - a learning experience celebrating good food, good wine and good company. Featuring guest speakers and the talented Driskill culinary team, guests learn about wine, spirits and how to pair them with a delicious culinary complement. Featuring five paired courses for $75 per person, seating is available for individuals, at communal tables or for private parties of up to eight.
