In 2001, award-winning chef and author, Geraldine Gilliland, in honour of her late step-father, packed up the artifacts in his Pub in Ireland and arranged for the entire bar to be painstakingly dismantled and shipped through the Panama Canal to Santa Monica. A crew of Irish craftsmen meticulously reconstructed it and on St. Patrick’s Day, 2002, Jake & Annie’s was reborn as Finn McCool’s Irish Pub – an authentic Irish Pub right at the beach in the heart of sunny California.
