Step into another world when you enter the Gift Horse Restaurant in downtown Foley, AL! The moment you step through the doors the beautiful beaded pine walls and ceiling envelope you in another time. Sparkling chandeliers & stained and leaded glass play with the light in the expansive rooms & the soaring ceiling lets your imagination run wild. Foley’s Founding Fathers built this place in 1912 to hold concerts, dances and cultural events. Over 400 people from the far reaches of Baldwin County attended the opening dance.
The building served many purposes over the years, until Jackie McLeod, a graduate of Auburn in 1963, began renovations in 1982. Now it serves the Community daily with it’s Traditional Southern Buffet & as a venue for Weddings, Special Events, and more – in house or off premise!
Follow dinner with a trip through time at each of The Gift Horse Antique Malls! You will find Elegant European items, Primitives, & Collectibles of all sorts.
Jackie also offers her home, Safe Harbour Plantation on Bon Secour River for Outdoor Venues of up to 500.
The new Gift Horse Cook Book is now available. You will be able to take recipes for Jackie’s famous dishes with you!
