Restaurateur Jesse Gomez and chef partner Jose Acevedo introduce a second Mercado outpost at 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue. Mercado Los Angeles serves as the fourth installation of a classic and contemporary Mexican dining collection of restaurant concepts that includes El Arco Iris in Highland Park and Yxta Cocina Mexicana in Downtown Los Angeles.
Mercado Los Angeles offers the same level of hospitality as the Santa Monica flagship with more space and inventive new cuisine and cocktail creations. The bright, expansive 6,200 square foot space, conceptualized by Ana Henton for MASS Architecture & Design, is a nod to the design of the original Mercado space while incorporating unique style and details that makes it stand apart. With sweeping views of the bustling neighborhood and the sky above an open air bar, Mercado is both a culinary and visual experience.
The menu exemplifies the flavor of Jose’s and Jesse’s Mexican roots, featuring signature creations such as Chef Acevedo’s revered carnitas and what has come to be known as the “best flan in the universe.” Chef Acevedo continues to surprise and delight diners with daily specials created from local farmer’s market fresh offerings, as well as the introduction of a new brunch menu. In addition to the cuisine, Mercado’s bar pours over 70 premium silver, reposado and añejo tequilas, 12 draft and bottled beers, and has an impressive wine selection from which to choose.
From a business lunch to large party dinners to private dining and a daily Hora Feliz and Sunday Brunch, Mercado Los Angeles welcomes you to join us day and evening for any occasion. We look forward to seeing you…and stay tuned for a new Mercado soon!
