Established in 2004, Sheila’s Wine Bar and Restaurant was purchased just a few years later by Pablo Medina and his wife, Bertha. Having worked at the prestigious Las Posas Country Club since the age of 18, Pablo’s seventeen years at the club only served to ripen his innate passion for fine wines.
Pablo’s desire to select the finest of the California vintages has inspired him to travel often to wineries where he can familiarize himself with the various processes, affording him a glimpse into the diverse levels of the wine world. He has been able to acquire delectable “Boutique” wines from the smaller wineries, and remarkably, the more sought after allocated wines one rarely sees in a restaurant. As a result, at Sheila’s Wine Bar & Café, you will find domestic and international wines to please everyone’s palate and which cater to everyone’s budget. Sheila’s boasts one of the largest wine lists in Ventura County and, in fact, has received the Southern California Restaurant Writer’s Award for Best Wine List.
Sheila’s Wine Bar & Café is family-owned and run. You can’t help but feel the love and the passion for their restaurant that they both pour into their life’s dream. Completing the circle, their son, Ivan, is the executive chef at Sheila’s, a young chef with a gift for combining flavor with artistry … enthusiasm with talent. To achieve the highest cuisine, Ivan takes time throughout the week to seek out the freshest produce and prime meats. Wild, hormone free, and fresh are musts as far as this chef is concerned.
