Slurp is a new International Noodle Bar offering an eclectic array of both traditional and modern Asian noodle dishes from Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and elsewhere throughout Asia and the Pacific.
The brainchild of executive chef Daniel Sudar and local restaurateur Nam Kim, Slurp serves a menu focused on freshness, cultural authenticity, and nuanced flavors. Visits to Slurp can take you on a culinary tour of the Pacific Rim without leaving the Castro, nestled in the heart of San Francisco.
From the wok, Slurp offers me goreng, pad thai, emerald fire noodle, Char Kway Teow and noodles with broth such as ramen, laksa, soto and pho. Slurp also offers variety appetizers such as homemade sui jao dumpling, curried cauliflower, adobo short ribs and lumpia.
Restaurateur Nam Kim sought out chef Sudar due to respect for his view that to achieve the complex layered flavors of Asian cuisine; there can be no shortcuts. Sudar makes sure that each dish and its sauce are crafted from scratch, with unique ingredients that are true to their country of origin.
