Le Provencal – Coral Gables

Le Provencal Restaurant has been thriving in Coral Gables since 1988. Trained at The Frederic Mistral Culinary Institute of Marseille in 1977 Chef Antoniotti began his career as an intern at the 3 star Hotel Restaurant Le Provencal in Cassis. His career has continued with the 4 star Hotel Cachette et Pierre Blanche Les Arcs 1600 in Haute Savoie, followed by the Hotel Cresta Kulm in St-Moritz, Switzerland. The Chef was lured to London to work at Monsieur Thompson’s French Restaurant in Notting-Hill followed by La Brasserie St Quentin on Old Brompton Road. Chef Antoniotti came to Miami in 1984 and went to work for Chef Maurice which became Le Provencal Restaurant in 1988. Chef Antoniotti infuses every dish he creates with his culinary expertise and passion for Provence.

In 1978, Chef Terrou began his culinary career after graduating from the Souillac Culinary School. He worked at the Michelin one star La Ferme de Mougins in Cannes, Le Grand Hotel in Souillac where he trained interns from the Souillac Culinary School. He later developed his own Foie Gras recipes at the Rougie Foie-Gras in Sarlat France, where the worlds finest Foie Gras is created. Le Provencal offers this rare treat which does not compare with locally made Foie Gras here in the United States. Before arriving in Miami in 1998, Chef Terrou worked at the Hilton in Bogota, Colombia and was recruited to work at the renown five star Le Festival Restaurant in Coral Gables. In 1999 he was awarded the American Academy of Hospitality Science’s Five Star Diamond Award, as one of the best Chefs in the World. However, he never lost his love and passion for Provencal French Cuisine and ultimately made the move to Le Provencal in 2002 .

Chef Antoniotti, Chef Terrou and president and manager Ms.France Guillou opened the doors of Le Provencal Restaurant at its new location in July of 2009.
