Berhaunu and Getahun Asfaw started Messob Ethiopian Restaurant in the mid 1980’s. Their commitment to serving the freshest, most flavorful Ethiopian cuisine has grown into an institution in Little Ethiopia. They are committed to the needs of the vegan community, which is why many of the dishes they prepare are 100% vegan. Messob also offers full catering and banquet services. We hope to see you soon!
Berhanu and Getahun are passionate about sharing their Ethiopian culture through an authentic dining experience. Messob, named after the Ethiopian communal serving basket, prides itself on creating an intimate atmosphere. Located within the neighborhood of Little Ethiopia, Messob is filled with small tables surrounded by embroidered seats arranged in tight circles to promote closeness.
The Asfaw brothers’ efforts to celebrate and share their culture have helped to revive Little Ethiopia, making it a popular destination for people throughout the Los Angeles area.
