On April 4, 1998, the owners of the Ugly Dog Saloon set out to provide world class barbecue in the heart of the New Orleans Warehouse District. The premise was simple: the most tender and moist barbecue, slow cooked in the restaurant’s on-site smoker, paired with our famous homemade coleslaw.
Today, Ugly Dog Saloon is a barbecue haven in an area rife with Cajun/Creole eateries and seafood cuisine – but lacking the distinct slow roasted and smokey barbecue flavors you’ll find at our restaurant. For over 16 years, we’ve satisfied guests with our classics like slow cooked pulled pork and smoked brisket.
