Obba Sushi and More a rapidly growing innovative sushi restaurant offering exclusive dishes and a variety of over 30 original sauces by Argentine Master Chef Walter Zapata. Zapata’s fusion of unique Latin and Japanese Sushi combinations makes this little nook on Brickell’s Bay the local hot spot for Sushi lovers.
Master Chef Walter Zapata began his restaurant venture with an Italian restaurant in Buenos Aires. In 2001 he moved to the United States where Walter was hired as the Sushi Chef in an Authentic Japanese restaurant. Soon after mastering his technique Walter met his wife Erika Ramirez, who is also a Sushi Chef at Obba and his business partner Tufic Akil.
After witnessing Walter’s technique and original sushi style Tufic Akil, an entrepreneur wittingly offered Zapata an opportunity to open his own Sushi restaurant. Hence was born OBBA Sushi and More, a small sushi bar in the Brickell area that has defied the odds. Located on the ground floor of Brickell Harbour, OBBA offers great food and innovation and has received an overwhelming demand to serve more people in our community. This demand ignited the recent expansion to our location doubling the size of our seating space.
